Laying the Foundation Stone for Prosperity

The establishment of the “Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Kenneth Li Scholarship” reaffirms Dr Li Dak Sum’s belief that education is the foundation stone of Hong Kong’s competitiveness and prosperity. The University of Hong Kong (HKU) shares his vision of expanding the educational opportunities available to the youth of Hong Kong.

Ningbo merchants are known for their entrepreneurial spirit and perseverance. Ning Po College and Ning Po No. 2 College, the two schools founded by the Ning Po Residents’ Association, both reflect this essential virtue in their school mottos. It is only through the ongoing quest of building one’s own capacity that one can continue to achieve success and contribute to the enhancement of society. We look forward to welcoming the aspiring students of these two schools.

Once again, HKU applauds Dr Li’s unfailing dedication towards education and his unwavering support of younger generations. I hope that students of Ning Po College and Ning Po No. 2 College will follow in the footsteps of Dr Li in striving for excellence and committing themselves to serving society.
